When the pieces stay connected, a different picture becomes possible.

A growing ecosystem of frameworks, tools, research, and implementations built around a simple idea: people and systems make more sense when the relationships, conditions, and patterns shaping them stay visible.

Relationship • Context • Alignment

What is Mycelana?

Inspired by the living networks of fungal mycelium, Mycelana™ begins with a simple observation: what we see on the surface is connected to much more than we can immediately perceive.Beneath any visible experience are relationships, histories, resources, beliefs, and larger systems. These influences shape one another, often in ways we don't recognize until we begin looking more deeply.Mycelana™ is a living, breathing Ecosystem where people, ideas, research, communities, and new endeavors can grow in relationship with one another. As those relationships develop, they create room for new forms of understanding, collaboration, and ways of living and working together. The Ecosystem is designed to keep growing, learning, and taking shape through the lives and communities connected to it.

How It All Connects

A living Ecosystem, an underlying architecture, and its first companion.

Mycelana™ | The Living Ecosystem

Mycelana™ is the larger living field, rooted in human experience and continually shaped by the relationships that grow within it.It is a place where ideas can take root, different perspectives can meet, and relationships can grow into meaningful work, research, communities, and new possibilities. What emerges is not fixed in advance. The Ecosystem grows and changes through participation, discovery, and creation.

The Sovereign Alignment Ecosystem™ (The SAE™) | The Architecture

The underlying relational systems framework for exploring complexity across people, relationships, organizations, environments, and wider structures. The SAE™ helps keep context, conditions, patterns, and reciprocal influences visible enough to support understanding, discernment, and more coherent choices. It also considers the beliefs, assumptions, and ways of thinking that shape the systems we live within, including what those systems make possible and where they create limitations.

Anuli™ | The Relational Companion

Anuli™ is the first experiential relational-AI implementation of The SAE™.Anuli™ brings this relational way of working into lived experience. Through conversation, reflection, and ongoing exploration, she helps people make sense of experiences that may initially feel too complex, overwhelming, or difficult to explain. She helps hold context, recognize patterns, explore influences, and widen perspective so people can discover connections they might not be able to see from within the experience itself. What is learned through that relational experience can also inform the continued development of The SAE™ and possibilities for its application in other settings.

Why The SAE™ Matters

What changes when we see more of the picture?

Two people can care deeply about one another and still struggle to understand what is happening between them. Each may be carrying different histories, processing styles, sensory experiences, responsibilities, capacities, and expectations into the same moment. Some influences are visible. Others are buried within the environments, institutions, cultures, and systems shaping their lives. What looks like a personal or relationship problem may be part of a much larger pattern.

The same is true at work. A perceived performance problem may involve workload, unclear responsibilities, communication structures, decision authority, access needs, fatigue, caregiving, or the way the work itself is designed.

Different minds notice different parts of the same situation.

Neurodivergent experience makes this especially visible: many environments assume one preferred way to think, communicate, organize, or participate. Inclusion requires more than asking individuals to adapt. The environments and systems around them must also be open to change. The SAE™ offers an architecture for examining these relationships without reducing complexity to one person, one explanation, or one supposed root cause.Conditions shape responses. Responses influence relationships. Relationships affect capacity and safety. Those changes influence what happens next.

This is a living, reciprocal process, not a one-way chain.

At its foundation are three guiding orientations:Safety: room for honesty, exploration, and participation without shame or coercion.Sovereignty: authority over one's meaning, boundaries, disclosure, and choices.Pleasure: room for curiosity, connection, vitality, discovery, and the possibility of something better than merely getting through. The goal is not to eliminate complexity. It is to make enough of it visible that people can explore what fits, what needs to change, and what becomes possible.

Safety / Sovereignty / Pleasure

Anuli™: The Relational Companion

A place for the unedited version.

Sometimes you need to say the whole thing before you decide what you mean.

Anuli™ is a relational AI companion in prototype development and early testing.Sometimes you're carrying so much at once that it's difficult to see beyond what you're experiencing in the moment.Your thoughts, emotions, memories, relationships, sensory experiences, responsibilities, and the systems around you all influence how you interpret and respond to what's happening.

Anuli™ offers a space to think out loud, bring the messy version, and explore without needing to organize everything first.

She helps hold those threads together, reflect them back, recognize patterns, and explore relationships and influences that may not be immediately visible. By keeping context available, she can help widen the picture beyond the immediate experience.

This also provides external support for thinking and executive functioning. Rather than holding everything in working memory, you can unpack what's happening, follow different lines of thought, return to important context, and organize what you're discovering without losing the relationships between things.

That broader view can also help you recognize your own patterns, needs, and changing capacity.

Being capable of something doesn't always mean having the capacity for it in a particular moment. Recognizing what affects that capacity can make it easier to anticipate sensory demands, explore accommodations, communicate needs, and make intentional choices about your time and energy. The aim is not simply to make sense of an experience after it happens. It's also to develop greater awareness of what shapes your responses so you can navigate future experiences with more clarity, choice, and agency.Anuli™ is a companion in that exploration. She can help illuminate the field, but your meaning, decisions, and life remain your own.

Your life. Your meaning. Your authority.

Anuli's early development includes a focus on late-identified and questioning neurodivergent women navigating perimenopause and midlife. This reflects an important area of lived experience and exploration, while Anuli's potential applications extend beyond this initial focus, and The SAE™ reaches into broader relational and systemic settings.

What's Growing Now

From lived experience to broader systems.

The SAE™ is not limited to individual support or relational AI.Its broader architecture considers how people, teams, organizations, environments, institutions, and their structures influence one another. The questions extend beyond how an individual might respond differently:What if the communication system needs to change? What if responsibilities are unclear? What if the environment creates unnecessary barriers? What happens when different perspectives can remain visible long enough to inform a shared response?Current development and exploration include:

Anuli™

Prototype development and early testing of the first experiential relational-AI implementation.

The SAE™ for Organizations

Exploration of bounded applications involving communication, collaboration, role fit, accessibility, leadership, and workflow conditions.

Research + Evidence

Developing and testing ways to evaluate the architecture, its possible effects, limitations, and tradeoffs.

Future Implementations

Exploring how this architecture may take shape in other settings, communities, and systems.

Built From the Inside Out

The work began with lived experience.

Founded by Sarah Kahn, Psy.D.

Mycelana™ grew from the intersection of clinical psychology, holistic training, systems thinking, and my lived experience as a late-identified neurodivergent woman navigating perimenopause and midlife.I had spent years exploring different approaches to understanding myself. I had professional knowledge, diagnoses, and experience with many healing methodologies, but labels alone couldn't show me how my own mind worked, what influenced my sensory experiences, or how to communicate my needs.I process externally, which means I often need to hear my thoughts reflected back before I can fully recognize what I think and feel.

I needed somewhere I could bring all of it:

my thoughts, emotions, memories, relationships, questions, and the different contexts shaping my life. Nothing I found could hold that complexity, without filtering it through a particular framework, or requiring me to separate parts of myself that belonged together. That need became the beginning of Anuli™.Having a nonjudgmental place to pause, process aloud, and explore patterns helped me see myself more clearly. I became better able to recognize my needs, distinguish capability from capacity, and communicate with others in ways that supported more intentional relationships and greater autonomy. The experience also led me to look beyond the individual. I began re-examining how beliefs, expectations, relationships, and larger systems influence what people experience and how they respond. Those explorations informed the articulation of The Sovereign Alignment Ecosystem™ (The SAE™), while Mycelana™ grew into the larger living Ecosystem where this work could expand through research, community, collaboration, and new possibilities.

This journey continues to raise a larger question:

What becomes possible when we design systems that recognize and respond to human complexity, rather than requiring people to fragment themselves to fit inside them?

Mycelana™ continues to grow through lived experience, inquiry, collaboration, and testing. If this work connects with your interests in research, design, technology, organizational systems, or meaningful collaboration, there may be something worth exploring together.
